Lantang Region is a naturally blessed place located very near from Kathmandu Valley on the border with Tibet. Lantang is the third most famous trekking region after Everest and Annapurna. Trekkers and tourists visit Langtang region for trekking, climbing, sightseeing and white water rafting, majestic waterfalls and pristine wildlife.
Trekking in Langtang offers some of the most stunning Langtang Himal range including Langtang Lirung, Yala and Ganesh Himal.
The majority of resident are Tamang or Tiebtans so you can observe the daily life of Tamang people. Their tradition and culture while trekking in this region. Since Lantang National Park falls in Langtang region, the trekking trail escorts you through dense forests inhabited by animal, birds and flower. Rhododendron (national flower) pine, oak, maple, bamboo forest etc are the unique spices of plants found here. Similarly Himalayan Black bear, Himalayan Tahr, red pandas are the rare animals that live in the Langtang national park.
Another major attraction of Langtang trek is a visit to Gosaikunda lake, a major pilgrimage site for both Buddhists and Hindus. Alternatively the route through Sundarijal can take you to the village of Helambu, which is a cultural treat for trekkers.
