World Heritage Sites in Nepal
UNESCO has recognized four natural and cultural World Heritage Sites (WHS) in Nepal which has been briefly described as below.
Pashupatinath is the holiest shrine of the Hindus and is one of the four most sacred pilgrimage sites that is visited by Hindu devotees from all over the world. Pashupatinath Temple is situated along the bank of Bagmati River in the capital city of Kathmandu is devoted to Lord Shiva, the supreme God of Hindu pantheons. Chitwan National Park
Chitwan is home to Chitwan National Park, Nepal’s oldest and naturally richest national sanctuary. Chitwan is famous for jungle safari on the elephant or on a jeep to see the elusive Royal Bengal Tigers, One-horned Rhinos, Asian Elephants among others. Other activities include bird watching, visit crocodile breeding center, canoeing, and rowing. Lumbini is world famous as the birthplace of Prince Siddartha Gautam who later went on to become Lord Buddha.
