Chulu East Peak Climb an adventure on top 6,584m / 21,601 ft, the highest trekking peaks of Nepal and one of the best mountains to gain experience on climbing of smaller scale mountaineering. Chulu East Peak Climb makes you feel with desire and interest for more another adventure climb after being on top of Chulu East situated among a group of Chulus high above scenic valley of Manang.

Chulu East Peak Climb offers you a tremendous panorama of the surrounding mountain with Northern massive range of Annapurna with all Chulus and Pisang peaks includes Damodar Himal towards north direction. The climb of Chulu East Peak grade as PD + which ‘Per Difficule’ a straight forward climb to its summit, facing few technical sections on route to the top encountering moraine-ice and glaciers with rocky areas, where all climbers require full climbing gear for the safe and successful ascent to Chulu East Peak.

The grading system we have used comes from French and Swiss Alpine Climbing Classification is popular among the world of mountaineers which you will experience on this tough and exciting Chulu East Peak climb. We have spared enough days to make the climb more accessible adding more camps than required to safeguard safe successful climb and descend with enough time to acclimatize and as well for preparation before the real adventure to Chulu East Peak Climb.

The adventure begins with an overland drive following popular Annapurna Circuit trail till Pisang villages and then away into remote corners of high Manang valley to reach our goal and target for the climb of Chulu East Peak. After the climb back on the main trail to reach main Manang village and onward to cross high Thorang-la pass towards Mustang district at Muktinath and at Jomsom where the scenic flight takes you to beautiful Pokhara city by its serene Phewa Lake, a lovely place to complete our adventure on Chulu East Peak Climb and Annapurna Circuit Trekking.

Day 03: Drive to Syange 1,240 m via Besisar 800 m - 08 hrs
Day 04: Trek to Dharapani 1,920 m - 06 hrs.

Trek Itinerary Detail:

Day 01: Arrival day in Kathmandu via various airlines and transfer to hotel.

On reaching Kathmandu international airport received by White Lotus staff/guide for short transfer in the heart of Kathmandu at Thamel area an interesting place after checking into your hotel room, meet at the hotel lobby for group briefing regarding Chulu East Peak Climb and trekking with other information to make your stay in Nepal enjoyable.

The evening includes welcome dinner in authentic Nepalese restaurants with culture programs of the country.

Day 02: In Kathmandu options for tour with climb- trek preparation.

Free day in Kathmandu for leisure activities where you can join in our sightseeing tour around the city places of Interest as Kathmandu valley steeped with world heritage sites, rest of the day preparing for Chulu East Peak climb.

Day 03: Drive to Syange 1,240 m via Besisar 800 m - 08 hrs.

Morning a long exciting overland journey on Nepal main highway to reach at Nepal Mid West within low warm farm country at Lamjung district in Besisar town, where drive continues following Marysangdi River to reach at Syange for a first overnight halt in a nice simple lodge, facing views of waterfalls.

Day 04: Trek to Dharapani 1,920 m - 06 hrs.

After a refreshing stop at Syange village starting with a climb for few hours to reach Jagat and then on a gradual winding trail to Chamje, and back to Marysangdi River crossing towards the eastern bank and into a forested area, with views of Annapurna and Manaslu mountain ranges.

The walk continues to Tal Besi village, another few hours walk reaching at Dharapani village for an overnight stop, a nice alpine large village with more Buddhism culture.

Day 05: Trek to Chame 2,670 m - 05 hrs.

Morning walk along the winding trail within rhododendron, pine forest to Bagarchap and Danque villages, then climb to Timang village. From here onwards into strong Buddhist area with view of Mt. Manaslu and Annapurna peaks, as walk leads beyond Timang village for few hours to Koto and then at Chame town for overnight stop, a large major town and headquarter of Manang area.

Day 06: Trek to Pisang 3, 230 m - 05 hrs.

The adventure continues heading much cooler area and getting closer to mountains region, trek through the alpine forest following Masrsyangdi River upstream with short up for lunch break at Dukuri Pokhari, and then descends to lower Pisang village for an overnight stop.

Day 07: Rest day at Pisang village for acclimatization and a short hike.

A rest day reserved to support acclimatization before heading higher areas, where short excursion and hike to upper Pisang and walk back helps you to acclimatize and to observe the local culture of Manang people of great interest.

Day 08: Trek to Julu village 3,930m via Ngawal village 3,657m - 06 hrs.

From Pisang village, walk leads off from Annapurna circuit trail for few days where the route leads into the complete wilderness, walking high above Nagawal village and towards North West into more arid and dry terrain to reach Jhulu, a small village for first camping of the trip.

Day 09: Trek to set Chulu East Peak base camp at 3,910m - 04 hrs.

After Julu small village, morning walk leads to a climb into remote wilderness facing views of Chulus with Annapurna range of peaks, climb leads above scenic Manang valley towards Chulu East and Far East Peaks area, after a hard high elevation walk achieving a rough moraines on edges to camp for medium-term, this ideal spot will be the base camp and beginning stage to Chulu East Peak climb.

Day 10: Trek and climb to Chulu East Peak high / advance camp 4,955m - 04 hrs.

An important acclimatization day before the classic climb on top Chulu east peak summit, as well for final preparation of the climb with time to check climbing gear, our guide will check the route to make the climb more approachable and successful.

Day 11: Climb Chulu East Peak summit 6,584m / 21,601ft descend to base camp.

Start early morning before breaking of dawn, climb leads over snow slopes and ridges facing steep and technical sections to reach on top Chulu East Peak; where our expert guide makes the route with fix ropes with a necessary arrangement to make accessible and to reach the summit.

After a final haul and climb reach the summit and enjoy surrounding magnificent scene of mountains and slip back to base camp.

Day 12: Reserve day in case of bad weather condition

We reserve a spare as contingency day, in case of unfavorable bad weather conditions, if all goes well this extra can be utilized in transit before Thorang-la

Day 13: Trek to Manang Village 3,450 m - 05 hrs.

From Chulu East Peak base camp downhill past Jhulu village to reach above Hongde valley, a village with a small airstrip, the walk continues to reach main Manang village on walks with time to visit old Braga monastery of great interest treasures ancient Buddhist relics, wall painting, frescos facing panorama of Annapurna Himalaya, from here an hour walk reaches you at Manang village, where houses are similar to traditional Tibetan style including old culture and traditional life of Buddhism.

Day 14: Trek to Yak Kharka 4,110 m - 04 hours.

After Manang, morning walk past Ghunsang village with a slow climb to Yak Kharka, an interesting high altitude trek with views of snowcapped mountains and crossing streams to reach Yak Kharka, a small settlement with close views of Gangapurna, Annapurna III and Chulu Peaks.

Day 15: Trek to Thorang High Camp 4,600 m - 04 hrs.

Morning heading higher area, to reach at the base of Thorang-la uphill walk along the river bank, as walk leads to Thorang Phedi, from here an hour of steep climb brings you at Thorang High Camp for an overnight stop.

Day 16: Cross Thorang-La 5,416 m and to Muktinath 3,800 m - 07 hrs.

One of the highlights the adventure, starting with early breakfast walk follows to the long climb up at Thorang-la with steep haul on winding path to reach Thorang La Pass at 5,416 m / 17,700 ft. The highest point of the journey where this high spot offers super views of snowcapped peaks, after feeling in top spirit a long descend takes you at Muktinath located above 3,800 m high.

On coming to Muktinath for medium-term stop, a sacred spot for the two Hindus and Buddhists the word Muktinath actually signifies 'the spot for Nirvana or Liberation’.

Day 17: Trek to Jomsom 2, 715 m - 04 hrs.

From Muktinath last day walks away from the motorable road which was constructed a few years back, trying to avoid the road as possible then reaching lower Mustang areas around Kaligandaki River valley to Jomsom for an overnight stop. Jomsom headquarter town of Mustang area and home to Thakali people the main habitats of Kaligandaki valley. An interesting place located on old Trans Himalayan Salt and Caravan route of Nepal to Tibet border the extends towards Upper Mustang.

Day 18: Fly to Pokhara 860 m from Jomsom with free afternoon.

Morning transfer to Jomsom airport for a swift short flight to land at beautiful Pokhara facing incredible panorama of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna range all the way to Pokhara city airport. On reaching Pokhara transfer to respective hotels by the lake Phewa with enough time for rest and walks around the lakeside.

Day 19: Drive / Fly back to Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.

The morning after breakfast drive back to Kathmandu on the same interesting highway past farm villages and town with last few hours climbs to reach the valley rim that takes you into the city of Kathmandu and transfer to your hotel. (Flight options 30 minutes to reach Kathmandu from Pokhara by air)

Day 20: International Departure homeward bound or respective countries.

As per your international flight time for homeward bound or to next respective destinations, depart from the hotel where White Lotus staff transfer you to Kathmandu International airport with final farewell after a great adventure and experience on Chulu East Peak Climb and Annapurna Circuit Trekking.
