White Lotus Adventure Treks present Classic Everest Base Camp trekking where you will enjoy tranquil surrounding away from mainstream trekking trails for a week with amazing scenery of unique landscapes and mountain views. Classic Everest Base Camp trekking almost forgotten route to high Khumbu and Everest areas, since the airport was built in Lukla in late 1970’s where much of trekkers use the short route to Everest base camp flying into Lukla.
Starting walk from Jiri town where less number of visitors use this route at present, allows you to witness both scenic and cultural sides of Everest trekking within Solu and Khumbu district of Mid-East Nepal Himalaya. An enjoyable adventure where the drive from Kathmandu takes you to nice Jiri town, also regarded as Switzerland of Nepal due to its beautiful scenic views of green hills, a valley with high snow-capped peaks.
The walk continues after Jiri heading into lovely Solu villages inhabited by various hill tribes but pre-dominantly with Sherpa people following through Sete-Junbesi on crossing high Lamjura-la pass covered with a serene forest of rhododendron and pines trees.
After time around the quiet trail from Jiri towards Solu areas where walk leads slowly to high Khumbu region, then encountering many fresh trekkers coming from Lukla town, where the trail of Lukla and Jiri joins to reach famous Namche Bazaar. With time for acclimatization and the short hike to view-points, the adventure continues heading past beautiful Thyangboche Monastery surrounded by green woodland and high snow-capped peaks with Everest and stunning Amadablam, visit of an interesting monastery at Thyangboche.
From here onwards tree lines drops for barren wilderness as walk leads closer to the higher arctic region at Everest base camp in the heart of world highest mountains with views of Khumbu Ice-Falls and glaciers, and then climb to famous view-point hill on top of high Kalapathar with closest views of Everest and striking Pumori peaks. Enjoying time on reaching our main target at base camp, where return route leads on much downhill towards Dudh-Kosi River with few ups to reach Lukla, a gateway town for many treks and adventure around Khumbu and Everest.

Trek Itinerary Detail:Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu 1,320 and transfer to hotel.
On arrival at Nepal international airport in Kathmandu received by White Lotus staff then drive to your hotel in the heart of Kathmandu city, with time to get refreshed in your hotel rooms. Then join in for group meeting and briefing regarding Everest Base Camp trekking with early departure next morning to Lukla.Day 02: Drive to Jiri 1,900 m - 06 hrs journey.
An exciting drive heading beyond east of Kathmandu on Nepal-Tibet/ China Friendship highway for some hours, on leaving behind Bhote Kosi River, on winding uphill to reach Charikot, a nice town of Dolkha district facing views of Gaurishankar and Melung-Tse as far towards Langtang with Everest towards east directions. From this town downhill to Tama Kosi River and up to reach Jiri a nice hill town, known as Switzerland of Nepal, due to it beautiful location green hills and valley cooler climate with views of snow-clad peaks.Day 03: Bhandar (Chyangma) 2,195m and start trek to Sete 2,575 m -06 hrs.
From Jiri, our first day walk starts after a few hours drives on hilly road to reach at Bhandar village, also called Chyangma, ending our drive as walk begins through farm areas past farm villages to reach at Kenja village a nice moderate size village, situated in a warm valley just beneath the high hills of Lamjura and Pikey danda, offering views of Numbur peaks. After Kenja, a steep uphill climb all the way to overnight stop at Sete village from here onwards the temperature gets cooler.Day 04: Trek to Junbesi 2,675m via Lamjura-la 3,530 m -06 hrs.
Start morning walk towards Lamjura-la pass with a steep climb into a forest of rhododendron, pines and oaks trees then heading past small farmlands and hamlets, after few hours of climb reaching on top of Lamjura pass. The top of the pass marked by a big stupa with few lodges, from the top descends leads through the forest all the way to Sherpa village at Toctoc. After a short stop continues to walk on the winding path to Junbesi, and then downhill to Junbesi, a lovely large Sherpa village with an interesting monastery and a high school funded by Hillary Trust.Day 05: Trek to Nunthala (Manidingma) 2,190 m - 06 hrs.
After Junbesi, walk-on winding path with glimpse of Mt. Everest and other snowcapped peaks, and then down towards a river to cross over the bridge, a short climb brings you at a nice Ringmo village, stopping here for lunch after a refreshing stop an hour of slow climb into forested areas to reach at Takshindu pass of 3,070m high, which marked with mani and Chorten with views of Numbur, Kusum Kangguru, Thamersarkhu and Kantega peaks. From here downhill to Nunthala past Takshindo village and old monastery, continue to descend to reach farmland on the outskirt of the village, a short walk from the bottom of the hill brings you at a big village at Nuntahla also called Manidingma, a village of Rai and Sherpa people.Day 06: Trek to Bupsa Danda 2,250 m - 06 hrs.
Air gets cooler as the route leads close to Khumbu area, on leaving Solu region, the morning begins with a downhill into the forest to reach a bridge over Dudh Kosi River, after crossing the raging Dudh Kosi River on winding uphill to Jubing village. After Jubing an hour climb to Kharikhola at 2,200 m high, which is a large village of Sherpa and Magar tribes, after a short break heading uphill after crossing Kharikhola with steep climb for an hour to our overnight stop at Bupsa, a small village perched on a ridge with superb views of rolling hills and valleys.Day 07: Trek to Surkhe 2,295 m - 06 hrs.
From Bupsa a slow and steady walk reaches high Khumbu area where the temperature gets cooler as the walk continues through mixed alpine forest. Walk leads over Kharte Dande pass at 3,880m high, way above Dudh Kosi River and then reaching at Puiyan (Paya) village at 2,800 m high a nice place in the midst of the forest. From Puiyan after having lunch leading on a winding trail with views of Lukla town and its airstrip, then descends to Surkhe village for an overnight stop in Khumbu area.Day 08: Trek to Phakding 2,645 m - 05 hrs
Morning walk leads close to Lukla on reaching Choplung village, where trail from Lukla and Jiri joins, from here to Phakding for overnight stop, as walk leads past villages and farmlands with grand views of hills and valleys then finally reaching at Phakding village by the Dudh Kosi (river) for overnight stop.Day 09: Trek to Namche Bazaar 3,440 m - 06 hrs. The walk begins on the gradual winding path following Dudh Kosi River and crossing over bridges to enter Sagarmatha National Park (Sagarmatha a name for Everest in Nepali, where Sherpa of Tibetan origin calls Chomolungma,), from here into river valley within forest area. The climb starts from the last high bridge on winding and scenic trail to reach Namche Bazaar offers great nice lodge with many shops and stores including banks and ATM facilities along with views of peaks. Day 10: In Namche for rest and acclimatization with a short hike.
Enjoy rest or free day to help and support acclimatization on this high altitude above 3,440 m high, where one can take a short hike to viewpoints and museum of great interest, facing marvelous views of Everest, Amadablam, Kwangde, with Thermasarkhu and range of peaks.Day 11: Trek to Thyangboche 3,867 m - 05 hrs.
Walk higher up on scenic winding trail facing views of Everest, Lhotse, and Nuptse with magnificent Amadablam, as walk leads down for lunch stop near Imjtase River. Afternoon few hours climb into the cool shade of rhododendron, pines, magnolia, blue pines, juniper and silver fir forest to reach a scenic and beautiful spot in Thyangboche surrounded by mighty peaks with views of Everest. At Thyangboche for an overnight stop with time to visit its interesting monastery in the shade of Everest and Amadablam mountains.Day 12: Trek to Dingboche 4,365 m - 05 hrs.
Morning enjoy views of Everest and other peaks with magnificent Amadablam and then downhill walk to a river, crossing the bridge with a slow climb towards Pangboche village with close views of Amadablam peak, the walk continues to reach a scenic Imjatse Valley where our overnight stops at Dingboche located with views of Amadablam and Island peaks.Day 13: Trek to Lobuche 4,890 m - 05 hrs.
From Dingboche climb above Dingboche and beyond Imjatse valley with scenic views, and then on gentle up as altitude catches slowly to reach Thugla for lunch stop. Afternoon leads to climb above a ridge of Thugla-La and then walk of an hour to reach at Lobuche for overnight with views of Nuptse and Lobuche peaks.Day 14: To Everest Base Camp 5,365 m back at Gorakshep 5,180 m - 06 hrs
From Lobuche to our highlight reaching Everest base camp, morning walk leads with slow climb above Khumbu glacier and moraine to reach a flat field at Gorakshep a place with few nice lodges. From Gorakshep continue to head east to reach at Everest base camp, on reaching our destination enjoy views of giant peaks with Khumbu Ice-Fall and glaciers, and then walk back to Gorakshep for an overnight stop.Day 15: Climb Kalapathar at 5,545 m walk to Pangboche 3,900 m - 06 hrs.
Early morning where a hike of few hours takes you on top Kalapathar at 5,545 m, the highest spot of the adventure offers views of a mountain range with Everest and Pumori at close distance. From here descend to Gorakshep and walk downhill to Lobuche, walking past Thugla with more descend to reach Pheriche valley and its nice settlement as the walk continues on an easy downhill to Pangboche for an overnight stop.Day 16: Trek to Namche Bazaar - 06 hrs.
With glorious time high above Khumbu, valley morning starts to a long day walk past Thyangboche Monastery with downs and few strenuous up then on winding scenic trail to Namche for an overnight stop.Day 17: Trek to Lukla - 06 hrs.
Another long day but with more downhill to reach back at Dudh Kosi River valley and gorge and past Sagarmatha National Park at Monjo to reach Phakding village. From here continue to walk for a few hours on a good trail with last final climb of less than an hour to reach Lukla for last overnight stop within Khumbu and Everest region.Day 18: Fly back to Kathmandu and transfer to hotel end of the service.
Morning as per the time for a flight to Kathmandu transfer to Tenzing and Hillary Airport in Lukla, where a sweeping smooth scenic flight of 30 minutes brings you back to city life in Kathmandu and get transferred to your hotel.Day 19: In Kathmandu spare and contingency days for individual activities.
Reserved this spare day as a contingency in case of flight delay and cancellation in Lukla or vice-versa, if all goes well according to our standard itinerary days enjoy a free day for individual activities.Day 20: International departure homeward bound.
