Dhaulagiri Base Camp Trekking and Hidden Valley trekking begins with an exciting drive to reach beautiful Pokhara city a famous renowned touristic spot, where journey extends towards further west past Beni and Baglung town to reach our trekking starting point at Darbang farm village.
Walk up to cooler hills on leaving warm low farm areas as the adventure continues following raging Mygdi River upstream past few farm villages to reach the glacial source of Mygdi River at Dhaulagiri Base Camp. Where walk leads into the deep forest and to remorseless fields of ice and glaciers with time at base camp to enjoy hike and views then crossing French pass to Hidden Valley and towards Thapa / Dhampus pass to reach Marpha and Jomsom town for short flight back to beautiful Pokhara.

Free day in Kathmandu for leisure activities where you can join in our sightseeing tour around the city places of Interest as Kathmandu valley steeped with world heritage sites, rest of the day preparing for Dhaulagiri Base Camp trekking.Day 03: Drive or Fly to Pokhara 860 m (30 mins by air) with 6 hrs overland.
Morning overland journey to Pokhara of about 5- 6 hrs drive to reach Nepal Mid- West where ride leads past interesting farm villages and towns with views of snow-capped mountains till you reach Pokhara. On arrival transfer to your hotel by the lakeside of Phewa, with time for a short walk around the lakeside with views of Annapurna peaks.

After a wonderful stop in scenic Pokhara, morning drive continues for next few hours to reach Beni town to begin this awesome adventure beyond Dhaulagiri base camp with Hidden Valley. Beni a large town and headquarter of Dhaulagiri and Mygdi district from here few hours’ drives brings at Darbang to the starting point of our adventurous trek, overnight in best available local lodge and hotels.Day 05: Trek to Riverside 1,560 m - 04 hrs.
Starting first-day walk of this adventure with a climb towards a small ridge passing several farm area and villages and then the walk is gradual walking along the bank of river Mygdi, after a pleasant day walk reaching to camp by the bank of the river for an overnight stop, afternoon at leisure for a cool splash in the river and a short walk around this least visited area.Day 06: Trek to Bagar 2,375m - 06 hrs.
Morning walk follows the river for a while reaching a small rural farm village of Jugepani, for noon allowing following 3 hours of pleasant strolls, after a break here a ridge for an hour reaching a ridge and then downhill through a forest to Bagar, a small farm village overnight camp by the schoolyard, this will be the last village or human settlement for a week till it joins at popular Annapurna circuit route at Kaligandaki near Marpha.Day 07: Trek to Dovan 2,600m - 06 hours.
Morning leaving farm fields of Bagar village, walk into the cool forest for an hour and then a steep climb towards the forested ridge of bamboo, oaks, and rhododendron trees, looking down at Mygdi River, after ending the climb downhill into dense forest of pines and rhododendron to reach at Dovan for overnight camp by river, Dovan a small temporary place with small teahouse in the midst of a forest surrounding.Day 08: Trek to Chartare / Bhainsi Kharka 3,000m -05 hrs.
From Dovan morning walk leads to cross an unstable wooden bridge over a river confluence of Mygdi River, after crossing back into woodlands for the whole day, walking on winding forest path till Chartare also known as Bhaise Kharka, as this area a grazing place for animals.Day 09: Trek to Pakhaban 3,750 m - 05 hrs.
After a pleasant stop in the middle of the forest, morning walk leads closer towards Mt. Dhaulagiri South Face flank, with views of Putha Huinchuli, Manapathi and of Dhaulagiri south flank, after 3 hours walk reaching a glaciated area named as Italian camp, from here leaving the forested and tree lines behind for few days, and then the adventure begins walking on glacier and moraine, rocky ridge to reach a small grassy spot known as Pakhaban and as well called as Japanese camp, as Japanese expeditions to Dhaulagiri camped on this spot.
This outdoors offers fabulous perspective on Dhaulagiri South West face with back enormous divider face of Tsaurabong Peak.Day 10: Trek to Dhaulagiri Base Camp 4,750 m - 06 hrs.
From the camp heading between huge bulk of mountains and deep gorge down underneath where ice sheet feds wellspring of Mygdi River, the walk keeps following moraine and ice shelf in few spots, move towards base camp requires a collaboration to locate the correct great way on this glaciated areas, after a strenuous walk off the glacier area to reach a rocky place and then at Dhaulagiri base camp for overnight, one of the highlight of this adventure.
Camping is contributed on the rough zone the shade of Mt. Dhaulagiri I (8,167 m) and its glacier including Tukuche peak with west peaks of Dhaulagiri II (7,751 m.), Dhaulagiri III (7,715 m.) and Dhaulagiri IV (7,618 m.).Day 11: At base camp free day for acclimatization and rest.
A full rest day for acclimatization and short climb around in this wonderful surrounding within amphitheatre of snow-peaks that extends towards Tukuche peaks, a massive world 7th highest mountain at the height of 8,167 m high with rocks and ice, here with time to relax and marvel the views and saving your energy for next day climb over high French Pass to Hidden Valley.Day 12: Trek to Hidden Valley 4,900m via French Pass 5,360m.
Morning walk leads to the highest spot of the trek over French pass at above 5,360 m high, walking on dry glacier and moraines near around the base of Tukuche peak. Our journey leads high to reach on top of French Pass, festooned with Buddhist prayer flags, after enjoying the surrounding views a short downhill walk of few hours to a wide grassy area at hidden valley for overnight camping.
Hidden Valley camp offers magnificent views of Sita Chuchura, Mukut Himal, and Tashi Kang 5,386 meters, Tukche Peak and Dhaulagiri I.Day 13: Trek to Yak Kharka 4,915m via Thapa pass 5,250 m - 05 hrs.
After a wonderful stop at Hidden Valley morning on the gradual path for few hours to reach the last pass of this marvelous adventure over Thapa or Dhampus pass at above 5,250 m high, from the top views of Annapurna Himal with Nilgiris peaks.
Enjoying the scenery downhill walk to Yak Kharka for overnight camp and back at green vegetation of Juniper, Burberry and rhododendron bushes with views of snow-capped peaks.Day 14: Trek to Marpha 2,670 m and drive to Jomsom 2,715 m - 05 hrs.
From this quiet and peaceful camp with views of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri range of peaks heading back to alpine woodland with a big drop of 1,200 m downhill to reach Kaligandaki river valley, where our pleasant day walk ends at Marpha village around Mustang area within Kaligandaki River valley.
After a long descend reaching at Marpha, one of the most charming villages with white painted houses and flawless cleared lanes, well kept hotels.
From Marpha with rest and then drive for a short distance to Jomsom, the headquarter town of Mustang district, at Jomsom, celebrate last night dinner with local apple products cider, brandy and juice this area from Jomsom, Marpha to Larjung is famous for delicious apples.Day 15: Drive to Jomsom 2,715 m, fly to Pokhara and transfer to hotel.
From Marpha to end our last day adventure with early morning short drive Jomsom, then transfer to the small airport where pleasant flight with exciting views of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri range reach you at Pokhara by its serene Phewa Lake for overnight stop.(Option for the overland drive to Pokhara from Jomsom takes more than 6 hours past Tatopani village and Beni town) Day 16: Drive / Fly back to Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.
The morning after breakfast drive back to Kathmandu on the same interesting highway past farm villages and town with last few hours climbs to reach the valley rim that takes you into the city of Kathmandu and transfer to your hotel. (Flight options 30 minutes to reach Kathmandu from Pokhara by air)Day 17: International Departure homeward bound or respective countries.
