Langtang and Gosainkund Trekking, an adventure that covers most of the beautiful sides of massive Langtang Himal range. Located within country Central Himalaya include Ganesh and Manaslu towards the west with Jugal Himal in the east. It is one of the best walking destinations in and around Himalaya. Where Langtang Himal the closest mountains from the capital Kathmandu and on route to Tibet border. Also originally an old Trans Himalayan Salt and Caravan Trail which still exists till present.

This Trekking leads you to enjoy with full of thrills overlooking spectacular views of dramatic landscapes. That is filled with green hills-snow capped high mountains and verdant valley. These are covered by the pristine forest of tall rhododendron-magnolia and pines trees.

A great journey to experience with local culture and a stunning panorama of mountains. A walk where leads you around traditional Tamang villages enriched with age-old Buddhist religions of fascinating ancient culture and lively custom. The walk continues after an exciting drive from Kathmandu heading due north to reach at scenic Kyanjin within beautiful Langtang Valley enclosed by an array of peaks. A marvelous spot with time for hike and acclimatization before heading further higher terrain.

After Langtang Valley our next adventure leads through enchanting woodland and then at the barren country to reach Gosainkund. A place with large glacial pond considered as sacred by both Hindu and Buddhist. A where the colorful festival takes place in the month of August.

An auspicious time during the full moon the event known Janai-Purnima where Hindu pilgrims visit for a dip in the icy pond to wash away the sin of hundreds of lifetimes. As adventure leads to a climb over the highest point at above 4,610 m/15,124 ft high the pass called Lauribina -la or Gosainkunda-La.

Enjoy the superb panorama of wide landscapes and mountains and downhill towards the green forested area on the road back to Kathmandu walking to the scenic hill at Chisapani for stunning sunrise views over the chain of Himalayan peaks and descend towards Kathmandu valley eastern suburb at Sundarijal for short drive to Kathmandu.

Detail Itinerary

Day 01: Drive to Pahiro by bus 1,540 m - 07 hrs.

Morning starts with a scenic drive from Kathmandu valley. This journey leads North direction past Nuwakot area with town and villages to reach Dhunche. The headquarter city of Rasuwa district, wherever Langtang park starts, Dhunche at 1,900 m. From here downhill on winding road to reach near Syabrubesi village. Afterward heading to a small village called Pahiro (past early landslides section) for overnight stop.

Day 02: Trek to Thangsyap 2,645 m - 06 hrs.

First-day walk leads uphill for a short time with the remainder of the walk on a gradual and winding trail through terraced farms and villages, walk descend to affix a path of higher, Syabru near Riverside. From here another hour walks to reach a small forest clearing at Thangsyap for overnight stop located above from river gorge and main trail of Langtang valley trekking.

Day 03: Trek to Kyanjin 3,830 m /12, 565ft - 05hrs.

Morning walk follows a ridge line above upper Trisuli or Langtang River leading to a climb into rhododendron and oaks forest after few hours walk reaching in the middle of a forest. After a nice stop continue walk for few hours through forest and crossing streams and leaving the tree line behind reaching Langtang village, as morning walk continues for a short while, then winds up for few hours coming across "mani- prayer wall", walk leads additional east wherever the gorge parades into a large scenic valley with views of peaks at close distance.

After a good walk of more than 4-5 hours reaching at Kyanjin, a beautiful place with a panorama of mountains and close views of Langtang Lirung at above 7,000m with icefall. Here is a nice lodge with an afternoon free for short walk visit the cheese factory established some twenty-five years past by Swiss Technical help and native support.

Day 04: Trek to Lama Hotel 2,450 m - 06 hrs.

Morning enjoy last grand panorama of Langtang massive range of peaks, after a great time at Kyanjin Gompa, come back on a similar path to Lama-Hotel little settlement in the midst of the forest at the bank of upper Trisuli River.

Day 05: Trek to Thulo Syabru 2,120 m - 05 hrs.

Trek today follows on the same route for a while, then crossing a bridge walk gets pleasant into the rain and bamboo forest. On leaving the river way down below then starts climbing through farm terrace and the fields to reach Thulo or Upper Syabru. A village with a row of houses perched on a ridge with an old monastery few minutes up.

Day 06: Trek to Sing-Gompa / Chandanbari 3,250 m - 05 hrs.

From Thulo Syabru on winding steep climb through terraced farm fields and villages, and into the cool shade of beautiful cone-bearing forest full of tall rhododendron-magnolia-oaks-pines and conifer lines, heading past kine herders shelters inside a grazing field.

Walk continues with final climb, then on the pleasant path to achieve at Chandanbari or Sing Gompa (a place with shoe wood trees), at Chandanbari in an exceedingly nice lodge, with an afternoon free visit its tiny cheese mill and recent cloister set on high of the village.

Day 07: Trek to Gosainkund 4,381m - 05 hrs

After Sing Gompa or Chandanbari village, wherever morning walk offers grand views of Langtang and Ganesh-Himal with Manaslu and Annapurna vary cardinal compass point, as our route leads above for associate hour into bush forest. Walking past inexperienced wooded areas wherever walk continues with mount departure trees for dwarf bush, juniper bushes, walk unwinds uphill past few teahouses around a small place of Laurabinaya. Where short downhill reaches the first lake Saraswati and the Bhairabkund with a short climb to our overnight stop within Gosainkund close to its calm pond.

At Gosainkund, where great religious festival held once a year called Janai Purnima (Full Moon) within the month of August, nice numbers of Hindu and Buddhists pilgrims throng the lake for a holy bath, as per Hindu standard belief, a huge rock at the center of the pond at one time had Shiva temple.

Day 08: Trek to Gopte 3,430m via Lauribinya -la / Gosainkund-la Pass 4,610 m/15,124 ft -06 hrs.

With exciting time at holy Gosainkunda, morning walk leads past the main lake to the uphill path between rocks and boulders. As walk leads past smaller ponds where the trail winds up to reach on top Gosainkund pass or Lauribinaya La, the highest spot of the adventure.

From the highest long downhill to achieve at Phedi (bottom) a place with few teahouses after a refreshing break continue walk heading east towards Helambu region and back into green vegetations and tree lines then reaching our overnight stop in a little spot Ghopte (implies overhanging rocks).

Day 09: Trek to Kutumsang 2,470 m - 05 hrs.

Morning walk leads where a course of Helambu and Kathmandu meets, from here a wonderful stroll into backwoods with ups and down for an hour with a jump to finish everything Thadepatti Hill neglecting perspectives on a high mountain run. After some rest walk drives downhill and again into homestead fields to achieve medium-term stop in Kutumsang, an intriguing homestead town with blended slope clans of Sherpa, Hyalmo and Tamang individuals.

Day 10: Trek to Chisapani 2,165 m - 06 hrs.

Morning start a walk to reach Chisapani, that leads to Kathmandu as our route leads on winding path with few ups and down heading through farm villages to reach Gul-Bhanjyang. In the wake of reviving stops walk proceeds on a decent and wonderful trail to reach at Pati Bhanjyang town, from here with short soak move to achieve last medium-term stop at Chisapani.

A picturesque and wonderful spot where you can have great perspectives on dawn and dusk over a cluster of tops from Jugal Himal extend in the north with Ganesh Himal-Manaslu and Annapurna extend the far west way.

Day 11: Trek to Sundarijal drive to Kathmandu - 04 hrs.

Final day trek of the adventure with morning views of the sunrise over the range of mountains as walk leads into the cool shade of woodland and farmlands with perspectives on Kathmandu valley. Afterward taking a long drive to achieve a street head at Sundarijal, an excellent spot inside woods and streams.

On coming to Sundarijal, a little ranch town where drive brings you back at Kathmandu after a charming and extraordinary minute on Langtang valley Treks and Gosainkund Lake where drive leads past great Stupa of Boudhanath, then back to your hotel in Kathmandu.
