Manaslu Circuit Trek or Around Manaslu Trek is a journey around Mt Manaslu (8163m). It is the eighth most elevated mountain on the planet. This is a moderate to difficult trek. it goes past the high Larkya La pass at an altitude of 5212m.

The trek begins in Besi Sahar near Pokhara. Further it goes through Dharapani, Gho, Samdo, Saga Gaon,. Finally it drops down to Arughat in Gorkha district. The trail follows the ancient trade route between Tibet and Manaslu region. Strong Tibetan Buddhist has influence in places like Nupri. It can be seen as Chorten, mani walls and ancient monasteries. Monasteries like SamaGompa and PungyenGompa i are seen from there. The region is also part of Manaslu Conservation Area project and has naturally dense forests. These forests are roamed by wild species such as snow leopard, Himalayan Black Bear, Himalayan Thar, and Blue Sheep.

Impressive views of mountains form the backdrop during the entire trekking journey. Larkya La, in particular, affords breathtaking glimpses of different himalayas. Such as Manaslu, HimalChuli (7893m), NgadiCHuli (7871m), ShringiHimal (7187m), Ganesh Himal (7163m), Nemjun (7169m), Pabil (7110m), Buddha Himal (6672m), Phungi (6398m) and Larkya Peak (629m).

Around Manaslu Trek/ Manaslu Circuit Trek has good facilities for accommodation such as lodges and guesthouses. You will need to obtain a special trekking permit to enter into Manaslu region.

Detail Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival in Kathmandu (1300m)

Depending on your time of arrival, our staff will be there at Kathmandu International Airport to receive you. Overnight in Kathmandu

Day 2 Kathmandu valley tour

Today you will be sightseeing around Kathmandu Valley. You will visit different historic places. Such as Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swoyambhu, Boudhanath, Pashupatinath, and Patan Durbar Square. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Day 3 Jeep to Soti Khola (800m) 8-9 hour drive

We take early morning drive from Kathmandu either on a private 4×4 jeep or Local bus. The drive is to Soti Khola in Gorkha district. we will drive through highway dotted with small villages and bustling bazaars. Next is overnight in Soti Khola.

Day 4 Soti Khola to Machha Khola (890m)

Today our trek starts. The trail follows the Bhuri Gandaki River . Which passes through rugged cliffs until it reaches Labubesi. Labubesi is a small Gurung village. It will take another 1 hour to get to Maccha Khola. Overnight in Maccha Khola.

Day 5 Machha Khola to Jagat (1410m)

The trail continues to follow Bhuri Gandaki river occasionally passing through Sal forests. Overnight in Jagat.

Day 6 Jagat to Deng (1800m)

we have oour morning breakfast and get back on the trail. Today you will see pass by scenic villages and terraced farms. The first glimpses of Sringi and Nupri mountains will be visible today. Stop Deng, a Buddhist village, for overnight rest.

Day 7 Deng to Namrung (2660m)

As you go deeper, you will find scarce inhabited lands. You will notice numerous Tibetan mani walls and stone carving along the way before entering into a forest of firs, oaks and rhododendrons. Overnight at Namrung.

Day 8 Namrung to Lho Gham (3180m)

The trail from Namrung leads you to alpine geography. Here people are of Tibetan descent and follow Tibetan lifestyle. For the first time Mt. Manaslu also comes into view. Overnight at Lho Gham.

Day 9 Lho Gham to Samagaon (3530m)

You will enjoy the trek today as you pass through open barren lands and with good views of Mt. Manaslu. Samagoan is the gateway and the last entrance to Mt. Manaslu. Overnight in Samagaon.

Day 10 Samagaon (rest day) option to trek to Manaslu Basecamp or Pungyen Gompo

Today is acclimatization day for you. You have two options. You can either trek to Manaslu Base Camp situated at an altitude of 4900m or visit Pungyen Gompa and Birendra Lake. The trek to the base camp is particularly a steep ascent but with beautiful sightings of moraine, glacier, a turquoise lake and spell bounding views of Mt. Manaslu.

Day 11 Samagaon to Samdo (3860)

The trek from Samagoan to Samdo is an easy one. The trail passes through yak pastures, potato and barley fields. Samdo is probably the last town between Nepal and Tibet in this region. This trail was once used by ancient traders. Overnight in Samdo.

Day 12 Samdo to Larkya Phedi or Dharamshala (4480m)

Today you will head towards Dharmashala. En route you will cross the Bhuri Gandaki River, glacier walks through Larkya Glacier and finally reach Dharmashala. Overnight in Dharmashala.

Day 13 Larkya Phedi to Bimthang (3720m) – climb the Larkya La (5100m)

Today is a challenging and adventurous day. You will be crossing Larkya La (5100m), one of the highest passes in the Himalayas. The pass provides incredible views of Kang Guru (6981m), Himlung Himal (7126m), Gyaji Kung (7030m) and Annapurna II (7937). The rest of the trail is a gradual descent to the valley of Bimthang. Overnight in Bimthang.

Day 14 Bimthang to Tilje (2300m)

The trail from Bimthang to Tilje involves trekking through rhododendron forest. We then cross a glacial stream and moraine. Finally we will be dropping to the village of Tilje.

Day 15 Tilje – Chamche (1410m)

Today your trail meets the Annapurna circuit as you drop down to Marsygandi Valley. Overnight in Chamche.

Day 16 Drive back to Kathmandu

We take an early morning drive from Chamche to Kathmandu. The drive will take approximately 7 hours.After arriving in Kathmandu, you will be transferred to your hotel. Overnight Kathmandu.

Day 17 Departure

Our staff will take you to the airport for your departure flight back home.
