Nar-Phu - North Annapurna Trekking located on far remote corners of scenic Manang Valley which is directly northern side of massive Annapurna Himalaya range of mountains close to Damodar and Chulus peaks. Nar and Phu North of Annapurna Trekking lead you to timeless villages almost forgotten by outside modernization world tucked in the hidden pockets of Nepal Far North Mid-West which extends near to Manaslu range as well.

Adventure begins with an exciting overland journey to lower areas of Lamjung district at Besisar a large town and headquarter of the area within sub-tropical temperatures.

From here heading further with a climb towards cooler alpine hill filled with a lovely coniferous forest of rhododendron-oaks-pines and fir tree lines on the same popular route of Annapurna circuit for some days. On reaching the turning point of Nar-Phu and North Annapurna leaving the main famous Annapurna circuit trail where our direction heads towards complete wilderness as route leads through deep river gorge within forest area and then walking into the wide open valley of Nar and Phu.

A great place to be where you will be taken back to medvial times explore its old village of Phu enriched with ancient Buddhist culture and monasteries along with breathtaking views of Damodar-Chulus and Himlung peaks. Our time at Phu ends heading towards its sister village of Nar similar type of traditions and houses but smaller than Phu, enjoying time here heading to cross over a scenic Kang-la pass to reach back on Annapurna Circuit trail to main Manang village.

From Manang village with marvelous time overlooking incredible views of high Annapurna and Chulus peaks then walking further west to cross the highest pass of the adventure over Thorang-la at 5,416 m high facing outstanding views of Dhaulagiri and other close mountain range.

Descend leads to nice and scenic areas of Mustang at holy Muktinath considered as holiest of all holy pilgrimage spot by Hindu and some Buddhist followers, where the journey leads to wide Kaligandaki River valley at Jomsom. Last stop of the adventure at Jomsom the headquarter town of Mustang district as well the hub of Thakali people located on old Trans Himalayan Salt Trade route of Nepal and Tibet.

Taking a swift short flight from Jomsom to beautiful Pokhara a city of immense beauty with a high Annapurna mountain range that reflects on its calm Phewa lake a great wonderful spot to complete our adventure on Nar-Phu North Annapurna Trekking.

Trek Itinerary Detail:

Day 01: Arrival day in Kathmandu via various airlines and transfer to hotel.

On reaching at Kathmandu international airport received by White Lotus staff / guide for short transfer in the heart of Kathmandu at Thamel area an interesting place after checking into your hotel room, meet at hotel lobby for group briefing regarding Nar-Phu and North Annapurna Treekking with other information to make your stay in Nepal enjoyable. Evening includes welcome dinner in authentic Nepalese restaurants with cultureprograms of the country.

Day 02: In Kathmandu options for sightseeing tour and trek preparation.

Free day in Kathmandu for leisure activities where you can join in our sightseeing tour around the city places of Interest as Kathmandu valley steeped with world heritage sites, rest of the day preparation for Nar-Phu and North Annapurna trekking.

Day 03: Drive to Syange 1,240 m via Besisar 800 m - 08 hrs.

Morning a long exciting overland journey on Nepal main highway to reach at Nepal Mid West within low warm farm country at Lamjung district in Besisar town, where drive continues following Marysangdi River to reach at Syange for first overnight halt in a nice simple lodge, facing views of waterfalls.

Day 04: Trek to Dharapani 1,920 m - 06 hrs.

After a refreshing stop at Syange village starting with climb for few hours to reach at Jagat and then on gradual winding trail to Chamje, and back to Marysangdi River crossing towards eastern bank and into forested area, with views of Annapurna and Manaslu mountain ranges.

Walk continues to Tal Besi village, another few hours walk reaching at Dharapani village for overnight stop, a nice alpine large village with more Buddhism culture.

Day 05: Trek to Kotto 2,540 m near Chame 2,670 m - 05 hrs.

Morning walk along winding trail within rhododendron, pine forest to Bagarchap and Danque villages, then climb to Timang village. From here onwards into strong Buddhist area with view of Mt. Manaslu and Annapurna peaks, as walk leads beyond Timang village for few hours to Koto for overnight stop, located near Chame town a large major town and headquarter of Manang area.

Day 06: Trek to Dharmashala 3,230m - 05 hours.

After Koto our course travels north far from Annapurna circuit trail for seven days heading towards Nar and Phu towns, in the concealed zones of Upper Manang valley close South West Tibet fringe in the nation of blue sheep's and snow panthers. Trek leads into restricted valley with timberland of pines and rhododendron trees, then reaching nice pasture fields with huts and sheds of Yak herders and in the gorge framed by Pisang Peak and Kang-master Himal lower bowl, walk keeps following Nar-Phu River upstream to reach at Dharmashala for medium-term stop.

Day 07: Trek to Kyang 4,100 m - 6 hrs.

Morning walk leads towards far north towards Phu town segregated zone of dry, arid landscapes, on the lookout for some wildlife’s Blue Sheep’s, Snow Leopard, Musk deer’s and mountain goats. Walk proceeds to Kyang for medium-term stop following an intriguing day, Kyang with dozen houses of Tibetan culture.

Day 08: Trek to Phu village 4,080 m - 06 hours.

Today goal to Phu town morning stroll towards Phu River following upstream for quite a while and after that diving back to waterway once more, at that point move to achieve a canyon valley, strolling around crevasse for quite a while and up into a wide, glacial valley with pasture lands ending at Phu village of strong Tibetan influence culture, traditions and religion.

Day 09: Rest day at Phu village, explore Phu village and valley

A necessary rest day at Phu for acclimatization, explore impressive village visit Tashilkhang and Samdu Choling Monastery and Kyauchyu cascades, Phu Village with around 30 houses for 100 to 150 occupants.

Day 10: Trek to Nar Phedi 3,545 m - 06 hrs.

From Phu town walk leads back on a similar trail for couple of hours diving to a narrow gorge at Phu khola, from here a slow climb to reach at Yughat small village with mani, chortens and Buddhist holy places, at that point at long last coming to on a level field at Nar Phedi for overnight stop.

Day 11: Trek to Nar-Gaon 4,206 m - 06 hrs.

Morning walk leads back to Phu Khola for few hours to reach a suspension bridge over Phu Khola, crossing the extension with soak move for couple of hours achieving a level area then walk to Nar village for overnight. Nargaon in comparison with Phu looks similar but smaller due to its remoteness with high altitude and dry land.

Day 12: Trek to Kang-La Base Camp 4,530 m - 05 hrs.

After Nar-Gaon walk heads to remote wild, far from human settlement for few days, a fascinating stroll for couple of hours then with short good and bad times in some rough and bone-dry way, passing steers herders asylums and eating field heading further west after Temdenzon kholain this wild surrounding with views of snow peaks and finally reaching at Kang la pass base for overnight camp at 4,530 meters altitude.

Day 13: Cross Kangla Pass 5,322m and trek to Ngawal 3,650 m - 07 hrs.

Beginning early morning to cross Kang-la at a height of 5,322 meters, walk moves higher on a precarious slant for couple of hours with dazzling perspectives on Pisang Peak with Chulu Far East Peak, and afterward achieving the highest point of the go with great perspectives with Chulu Far East Peak, and then reaching the top of the pass with wonderful views of Annapurna massif mountain range, Chulu Peaks, Lamjung Himal and adjoining pinnacles of Annapurna range, and afterward walk downhill to Ngawal by means of Julu town near Manang town to reach at primary course on Annapurna circuit trail.

Day 14: Trek to Manang Village 3,450 m - 05 hrs.

From Ngawal catching wonderful views of Chulus and Pisang peaks as walk leads through forest with short tough and perspectives on amazing Annapurna II and III, Gangapurna Chulus and Pisang peak. Descend to Hongde village, from here tree lines drops for barren landscapes with cold, dry arctic climate.

Before Manang, visit old Braga religious community with old Buddhist relics and after that an hour walk brings at Manang village. The houses here are built up in traditional Tibetan style and Manang people are known for their rich cultural and traditions.

Day 15:   Trek to Yak Kharka 4,110 m - 05 hrs.

On completing our visit other side of Manang valley around Nar-Phu, morning walk leads to several smaller village with uphill and then on level ground to reach at a nice place in Yak Kharka for overnight stop.

Day 16: Trek to Thorang High Camp 4,600 m - 04 hrs.

Morning walk leads closer to Thorang-la as the walk progress crossing a bridge and then a climb along the Jarjung River, then leading at Thorung Phedi for short rest and then climb the last hour uphill to Thorang High Camp for overnight stop.

Day 17: Cross Thorang-La 5,416 m and to Muktinath 3,800 m - 07 hrs.

Starting early morning to reach highest point of the great adventure, after breakfast climb up to Thorang-la at above 5,416 m marked with Buddhist prayer flags, offers superb vista landscapes and snowcapped peaks, from here a long descend to Muktinath at 3,800 m.

Muktinath a holy place for both Hindu and Buddhist the word Muktinath literally means ‘the place for Nirvana or Liberation’.

Day 18: Drive to Jomsom 2,715 m - 02 hrs.

From Muktinath village, after ending our walks drive towards Kaligandaki river valley to reach at Jomsom, headquarter town of Mustang region with small airstrip, at Jomsom for overnight stop.

Day 19: Fly or drive to Pokhara and transfer to hotel.

Morning from Jomsom hotel transfer to its small airport where pleasant flight with exciting views of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri range reach you at Pokhara by its serene Phewa Lake for overnight stop. (Option for overland drive to Pokhara from Jomsom takes more than 6 hours past Tatopani village and Beni town)

Day 20: Drive / Fly back to Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.

Morning after breakfast drive back to Kathmandu on the same interesting highway past farm villages and town with last few hour climb to reach the valley rim that takes you into the city of Kathmandu and transfer to your hotel. (Flight options 30 minutes to reach Kathmandu from Pokhara by air)

Day 21: International Departure homeward bound or respective countries.

As per your international flight time for homeward bound or to next respective destinations, depart from the hotel where White Lotus staff transfer you to Kathmandu International airport with final farewell after a great adventure and experience on Nar-Phu North Annapurna Trekking.
