Tsum Valley Trekking remained isolated for centuries once a famous and flourishing trade route of Nepal and Tibet where border extends further high from Mu Gompa, where trade still exists but in smaller ways than in good old glorious times. Tsum Valley located on remote Far North Mid-West of Nepal and Gorkha district hidden beyond massive Ganesh and Manaslu Himalaya range of mountains, where our walk begins with an interesting drive to reach that starting point of the trek at Soti-Khola village.
Trek continues on main Manaslu trail for some days and then our route diverts further northeast to reach the hidden Shangri-la around Tsum Valley, enjoy perfect tranquility in the harmony of scenic views of mountains and beautiful landscapes. Tour leads around nice medvial era villages and old monasteries of great interest which is one of the main highlight of this adventure Tsum Valley Trekking, enjoying grand time exploring impressive areas of Tusm, and then our trip concludes heading back into low warm farm areas of Burigandaki River valley.

Free day in Kathmandu for leisure activities where you can join in our sightseeing tour around the city places of Interest as Kathmandu valley steeped with world heritage sites, rest of the day preparing for Tsum Valley trekking.Day 03: Drive to Soti-Khola 700 m - 06 hrs.
Morning exciting drive towards Nepal Mid West as journey leads to lower warm mid slopes past ranch towns and towns with perspectives on snow-topped pinnacles. As drive continues with few refreshing stops head west to reach Gorkha areas within a warm sub-tropical country at Arughat.
Drive continues from Arughat past farm villages and terraced fields with numerous streams and then on the bank of Buri Gandaki through cultivated land, with many scattered farmhouses and hamlets to Mordar, Simre, and Arket villages. After a short while heading to a river for the overnight stop at Soti Khola, with time to relax and stroll around the village.Day 04: Trek to Machhe-Khola 869 m - 05 hrs.
From Soti-Khola, walk begins to steep climb around a dense forest and past number of little towns tucked in a slope, at that point achieving a wide valley inverse at the point where a large tributary stream enters into Burhi-Gandaki River. The terraced developed field has a place with the upper town of Lapbesi. From here our way slips to a wide, sandy riverbed following a trail winding underneath the steep, craggy valley side.
At some length leading to a climb on the trail to Machha Khola for an overnight stop, with a number of teashops and a small lodge, the word Maccha Khola means Fish Stream.Day 05: Trek to Dobhan 1,070 m via Tatopani (Hot Spring) - 06 hrs.
From here coming across interesting farm villages with neatly cultivated fields as vegetation change slowly as altitude gains with the climate, walk to cross a stream where Machha Khola (Fish stream) name comes from, then over upstream towards Khola-Bensi town with Tatopani a spot with normal 'hot spring'.
As walk continues where valley becomes much narrow and steeper, where our trail switches to the left bank of the river and then crossing a suspension bridge, after a short period of walk entering a patch of forest and then reaching Doban located on the high shelf of Buri Gandaki River.Day 06: Trek to Jagat 1,340m- 05 hrs.
Morning walk leads across a broad gravel field towards Lauri stream and then crossing suspension bridge which leads to a climb on high trails and then descending into the open valley of Yara Khola, where our journey continues on for another hour to the village of Jagat.
Jagat a nice looking farm village of moderate size after Arughat; people here with mix race Magar, Chettries, Brahman, Manaslu Bhotia (Tibetan looking tribes) and some Newar people a lodge owner and shopkeepers.Day 07: Trek to Lokpa 2,240 m / 7,349 ft via Philim 1,570 m - 06 hrs.
From Jagat descends s to reach a river, where route climbs on a terraced hillside at Saguleri, with distance view of Sringi Himal 7,187m, walk continue with ups and down a trail as our route reach at a bridge over Buri-Gandaki. After crossing over a bridge where our trail winds up to reach at Philim village for short break and to observe this nice farm village with rich cultivated fields and terraces.
After a refreshing stop at Philim, walk leads higher past scattered farm villages with a climb through terraces of golden fields of wheat’s and barley, to reach a rocky ridgetop covered within bamboo forest area towards Eklai Bhatti means a lonely Inn, at present few more shops have been come up. After a resting head towards Lokpa, where route diverts to North East to reach our overnight stop at Lokpa.Day 08: Trek to Chumling 2,386 m - 06 hours.
From here on entering into fresh new areas, away from main trekking trails of Manaslu heading into Tsum, the valley of happiness from here walk proceeds past few small farmlands and scattered villages with views of Ganesh and Manaslu Himal, as our day walk ends entering a nice village at Chumling for overnight halt.Day 09: Trek to Chokan-Paro 3,010 m - 05 hours.
A serene country with fresh cool mountain air, walk gains elevation slowly as our adventure progress into inner Tsum valley, where our route leads to a descend and over a bridge towards Smatiking Khola, with views of Ganesh Himal also called Yangra in local language of Tibetan origin, and then reaching a fair size village at Chokan-Paro for overnight stop.Day 10: Trek to Nele 3,361 m via Milarepa cave - 07 hours.
From here onward within Tsum valley, morning walks leads to higher areas at Nele village within well exposed and open wide valley, a dramatic arid and dry country similar to Tibetan landscapes. Where tree lines drop for few smaller juniper and pine trees, as the journey continues facing views of Ganesh and Manaslu Himal mountain range after a scenic good trek finally ending the day at Nele.
On route trek with time to explore Guru Milereppa meditation cave a great Buddhist saint with the history of 11th century, Milereppa a poet, singer as well tantric guru where his folk stories, good words, and songs are still remembered by a large number of Tibetans to this day.Day 11: Rest day at Nele to explore the pristine wilderness.
A free day at Nele, observe local culture exploring its traditional and fascinating villages with a strong influence of Tibet custom with same Buddhist religion and traditional way of life.Day 12: Trek to Mu Gompa 3,700 m - 04 hours.
Today a short morning walk to reach the end of Tsum Valley area at Mu Gompa, an old interesting monastery of the region. A walk leads to a climb within high and dry country facing views of surrounding high peaks within North, East and West direction, and then slowly walk completes reaching Mu Gompa for an overnight stop.
Afternoon enjoy exploring around least visited areas by other trekkers and westerners where you will certainly have a peaceful time and moments around its traditional village with the impressive ancient monastery of Mu Gompa, treasures antique important idols, statue and relics, Mu Gompa highest spot of the trek.Day 13: Trek to Rachen Gompa 3,240 m - 05 hours.
After exciting and interesting time on high Tsum valley, walk leads to next monastery of great interest at Rachen Gompa, where walk leads on gradual trail with short ups and downs with lovely panorama of snow-capped peaks, heading through yak herders summer pasture to reach Rachen Gompa and its moderate size village for overnight stop.Day 14: Trek back to Chumling 2,386 m - 06 hours.
Return walks after an excellent time around high Tsum valley, where walk leads lower areas to reach Chumling where our route leads back within tree lines and green vegetation at Chumling town, for last and last medium-term in Tsum Valley.
Day 15: Trek to Lokpa 2,240 m - 05 hrs.
From here retrace the journey back to Lokpa to join Manaslu valley route, where walk leads further down leaving behind Tsum the valley of happiness, the as good walk continues facing grand views of mountains and surrounding dramatic landscapes all the way to Lokpa for overnight stop.Day 16: Trek to Philim village 1,590 m - 06 hrs.
Morning walk leads with some down section entering into sheer cliff walls, after leaving the dramatic areas walk continues to reach at main trail of Manaslu, as our route leads further south direction to reach at warmer farm village at Philim, an interesting place for overnight stop, a village with spread out houses with immense farming crops and vegetables.Day 17: Trek to Tatopani village with Hot Spring-06 hrs.
After a lovely overnight at Philm village, where morning walk leads following Buri Gandaki river downstream, on the same trail of previous past days on the way up to Tsum as our route leads to further descend reaching low sub-tropical area at Tatopani a village with natural fresh hot-spring. Here appreciate reviving minutes on regular hot-spring with time to investigate around the homestead towns.Day 18: Trek to Soti Khola 730 m - 06 hrs.
From this nice village with hot-spring walk continues on near level trails following the raging river downstream encountering many farm villages and into a patch of the forest of oaks and Sal trees to reach our last overnight stop and then end of the walk at Soti-Khola village.Day 19: Drive back to Kathmandu and transfer to hotel with a free afternoon.
After a marvelous adventure at Tsum Valley Trekking, completing our scenic walks taking a morning dive from Soti-Khola following Buri Gandaki River for sometimes past Arughat town, further towards low areas of paddy fields to reach on the main highway to reach Kathmandu.
An interesting drive takes you back to the city life of Kathmandu transfer into your hotel with the rest of the evening free at leisure.Day 20: International Departure homeward bound or respective countries.
