Dolpo lies in the Trans-Himalayan region. It is largest district of Nepal and is home to Phoksundo Lake (3611m) in Nepal. This trek passes through Shey Phoksundo National Park which is absolutely rich in biodiversity and wildlife.
Dolpo offers a mix of cultural and natural attractions. Shey Gompa is the oldest and most important sacred sites for Buddhists. The Shey festival held every twelve years at the Gompa is a major attraction for trekkers and tourists. Rinpoches from near and far are invited to take part in a mass prayer observed in honor of Crystal Mountain, considered as the younger brother of Kailash or Tise Mountain. Saldang, the ancient trade route between China and Nepal, is another important feature of this trekking.
Dolpo is still a restricted area and the best time for Dolpo trek is from March through September.

Day 1 Arrival in Kathmandu
Depending on your time of arrival, our staff will be there at Kathmandu International Airport to receive you. Overnight in Kathmandu.
Day 2 Fly from Kathmandu to Nepaljung.
After breakfast, drive to domestic airport to catch a flight to Nepalgunj. Nepalgunj is a popular town in Farwest region of Nepal and a major trade point between India and Nepal. Overnight in Nepalgunj.
Day 3 Fly to Juphal and trek to Dunai
We will catch early morning flight to Juphal from Nepalgunj which will take at least 45 minutes. Once you in Juphal, we will start trekking to Dunai (2850m). You can already enjoy views of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri. Dunai is the administrative capital of Dolpo region. Overnight in Dunai.
Day 4 Trek to Tarakot.
Get ready for the trekking after breakfast. The trail follows a river upstream passing through deep gorge covered by pine trees. It will take at least 4 hours to reach Tarakot. Tarakot was once afortress built by local people. Overnight in Tarakot.
Day 5 Trek to Khani Khola (2,543m)
You will enjoy your trek from Tarakot to Khani Khola. The trail passes along Tarap chu river with brief stop over at Sahatera And Khani villages. Stay overnight at Khani Khola.
Day 6 Trek to Tarap Khola (3,450m)
The trekking today is leveled through open fields with relatively less vegetation. Before you reach TArap Khola you will pass over the gorge which is adventurous. Overnight in Tarap Khola.
Day 7 Trek to Yak Kharka (3800m)
Today the trek will be a pleasant walk with superb views of Dhaualgiri mountains. Yak Kharka is a pasture land used by Yaks. Oernight camp in Yak Kharka.
Day 8 Trek to Dho Tarap.
Today you will reach midpoint of your trek. The trail towards Dho Tarap is initially uphill climbing via Kamattarka which is the meeting point of Tarap Chu and Lang Khola. After few hours of walk you will reach Dho Tarap. Dho Tarap has unique stone walls. Overnight in Dho Tarap.
Day 9 Acclimatization Day
Today you will spend acclimatizing in Dho Tarap. You will have the option to explore surrounding villages, trying local cuisines and visiting Buddhist Gompa nearby.
Day 10 Trek to Tokyu Village
The trail further leads you up Tarap Chu upstream as we enter Upper Dolpo. You will reach Tokyu Village in 5 hours. Overnight in Tokyu Village.
Day 11 Trek to Numa La base
After early morning breakfast, resume your trek towards Numa La. From Tokyu, the trek takes three hours to reach base of Numa-La. The trail is almost uphill all the way. Overnight in Numa La.Day 12 Trek to Phedi crossing Numa La pass
You will face the challenging part of the trek, that of crossing Numa La pass. Leaving Phedi, the trek continues to climb uphill crossing Numa La at astound 5,190m. The pass offers spectacular glimpses of Dhaulagiri massif along with other snow capped mountains. Drop down to the other side of the pass to a placed called Phedi. Overnight in Phedi.
Day 13 Trek to Baga La and return to Phedi
Today you will make a sidetrip to Baga La ridge located at 5,070m. It takes about 4 hours to reach the ridge peak however it will all be rewarding. From the ridge, you can catch magnificent Kanjirowa ranges. Trek down to Phedi. Overnight in Phedi.
Day 14 Trek to Lake Phoksumdo.
The jewel attraction of this trek is Lake Phoksumdo. Located at an altitude of 3600m, Phoksumdo Lake is a turquoise serene wetland that supports a diverse ecosystem. You will have to walk through pine forest and pass by the village of Ringmo(3,600m) . Overnight in Lake Phoksumdo.
Day 15 Trek to Chepka(2.260m)
The trail from Phoksumdo to Chepka descends through the forests of pine. Overnight in Chepka.
Day 16 Trek to Juhpal.
From Chepka you can easily retrace your steps back to Juphal. Overnight in Juphal.
Day 17 Fly to Nepajunj and connecting flight to Kathmandu.
Catch early morning flight to Nepalgunj from Juphal. On reaching Nepalgunj take a connecting flight to Kathmandu. On you arrival in Kathmandu, you will be transferred to your hotel. Overnight Kathmandu.
Day 18 Departure
