Lying in the northern central part of Nepal, Upper Mustang is a lost Shangri La. It is boarded with Tibetan plateau, in the Trans-Himalayan kingdom. Upper Mustang is home to unrivaled Buddhist shrines. It is along with cliff-hanging monasteries. Mustang Region is considered to be the most picturesque place.

People of Upper Mustang have languages, culture, and traditions. That is similar to those of their Tibetan cousins. The trek offers beautiful views of Himalayas. Such as Annapurnas and Dhaulagiri.

The highlight of this trek is the visit to Lo- Manthang. Also known as the Forbidden Kingdom. Lo Manthang is a restricted area. It home to Nepal’s oldest Buddhist Monasteries. It is ancient and isolated villages with charming whitewashed houses. The trail passes through high height desert nation.We then move all through the enormous sided valley of the Kali Gandaki.

Detail Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu (1300m)
Our staff will be come depending on your time of arrival. Our staff will be there at Kathmandu International Airport to receive you. Overnight in Kathmandu.
Day 2 : Flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara (915m)
After breakfast we drive to the Domestic airport to catch a short flight to Pokhara. we will spend your day sightseeing in Pokhara. Which includes visiting Phewa Lake, Peace Stupa, Sarangkot, and International Mountain Museum. Overnight in Pokhara.
Day 3 : Flight from Pokhara to Jomsom and Trek to Kagbeni (2810m)
Take a 15-minute flight from Pokhara to Jomsom. This is the district headquarter of Mustang and the beginning point of our trek. After arriving in Jomsom we trek for an hour to reach Kagbeni. It is an ancient village of Thakali community on the banks of Kali Gandaki River. Next is overnight in Kagbeni.
Day 4 : Trek from Kagbeni to Muktinath (3795m)
The trek from Kagbeni to Muktinath follows the Kali Gandaki River. En route you will enjoy stunning views of Annapurna Dhaulaigiri. Muktinath or Chumig Gyatsa is a Tibetan Buddhist Temple dedicated to Avalokitesvara. The temple is famous for its eternal flame. And also for 108 sacred spring sprouts. Overnight in Muktinath.
Day 5 : KagbTrek from Muktinath to Chele (3050m)
Today we will enter the restricted Upper mustang region. The trail passes through Gyu La (4077m). And then crosses the river to Chele. Overnight in Chele.
Day 6 : Trek from Chele to Syangboche (3800m)
The trek from Chele to Syanboche is straightforward. However it can be very challenging. Since you will be crossing four passes, all exceeding 3600m. This is before reaching Syanboche nestled on the banks of Syangboche River. Overnight at Syangboche.
Day 7 : Trek from Syangboche to Tsrang/Charang (3560m)
Syanboche toTsarang is partially uphill through barren land and rugged trails. You will cross Nyi La (4010m) with mustard farms on either side. Charang has a 400 year old monastery of Gulpa sect tradition. Overnight in Tsarang.
Day 8 : Trek from Tsrang to Lo Manthang (3810m)
Today is a big day. You will be reaching the walled kingdom city of Lo Manthang. But first you will have to cross Lo La pass (3950m). Once governed by Tibet Lo Manthang is an ancient kingdom. Overnight in Lomanthang.
Day 9 : Rest day or Explore day in Lo Manthang.
Today is an acclimatization and exploration day. You will have plenty of time to know the history of the medieval kingdom of Lomanthang and share stories with local people. You can also visit Ghom Cave if you have time. Overnight in Lomanthang.
Day 10 : Trek from Lo Manthang to Ghami (3765m)
The trek from Lo Manthang to Ghami goes uphill crossing over Pangga (Samduling) at 4090m, and then dropping down to Dhakmar. Overnight in Ghami.
Day 11 : Trek Ghami to Samar (3660m)
Today you will retrace your steps back to Syanboche. And then to Samar. Samar is home to Samar monastery. It has exquisite Buddhist wall painting and a statue.
Day 12 : Trek from Samar to Chhusang (2980m)
The trail ahead of Samar involves crossing two passes. They are Daroji La (3735) and Takma La (3624). Chusang consists of three villages. Which are named Thsuk, Tshuksang and Tshomnang.
Day 13 : Trek from Chhusang to Jomsom (2820m) Via Kagbeni (2810m)
You will return today to Jomsom by following Kali Gandaki River. Overnight in Kagbeni.
Day 14 : Flight from Jomsom to Kathmandu via Pokhara.
After early morning breakfast, catch a fligh back to Pokhara and then a connecting flight to Kathmandu. On you arrival in Kathmandu, you will be transferred to your hotel. Overnight Kathmandu.
Day 15 : Final Departure
Our staff will take you to the airport for your departure flight back home.
